March 3, 2016 (TORONTO) – TMX Group Limited today announced February 2016 trading statistics for its marketplaces – Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, TSX Alpha Exchange (Alpha), Montreal Exchange (MX) and NGX.

MX set multiple volume records during the month. On February 17, 2016, MX reached new daily volume records on S&P/TSX 60 Index Options (SXO) with 51,535 contracts traded and options on the US dollar (USX) with 2,101 contracts traded.

MX also set a new monthly volume record for the Ten-Year Government of Canada Bond Futures (CGB) of 2,542,177 contracts and an overall monthly volume record in February 2016 with 8,470,741 contracts traded.

NGX set a new monthly overall power volume record in February 2016 of 25.3 terawatt-hours (TWh), which included a new monthly record for electricity volume with 13.7 TWh of Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) facilitated power.
