PDAC's Social Impact of Mineral Development Projects in Indigenous Communities

As the consultants for this study, SOOP identified and analyzed anticipated impacts and subsequent increased demands on social infrastructure within host Indigenous communities in proximity to mineral development projects in Canada. Study findings established a set of practical strategies mineral resource development companies can exercise to improve, mitigate or manage their social impacts on host communities. The study was compiled from extensive desktop research, first hand interviews with Indigenous community members and was overseen by PDAC's Indigenous Advisory panel.
