New survey launches to get company’s views on climate transition plans

TMX is partnering with Business Future Pathways (BFP) to accelerate the voluntary adoption of climate transition plans by businesses in Canada with the goal of creating opportunities to attract capital and remaining globally competitive.

To advance this work, BFP is conducting an online survey to better understand the gaps between businesses and financial institutions in Canada when it comes to developing credible transition plans, and is seeking direct input from Canadian businesses.

--------

The survey's results will directly inform the guidance produced by Business Future Pathways in early 2026, which will provide simple and user-friendly guidance for investors and businesses that is immediately deployable — guidance that balances the needs of investors with the unique context, challenges, and decarbonization pathways facing businesses. The survey will also inform future sectoral guidance that helps companies develop credible transition plans specific to their industry.

Business Future Pathways is seeking personal perspectives from professionals working in Canadian companies for the survey. Responses will be anonymized, with no individual responses tied to any individual person in the data analysis or in any of Business Future Pathways' reports. The data will be aggregated and used to establish underlying relationships only, reported in summary format. The survey should take less than 15-20 minutes to complete.

Please reach out directly to Business Future Pathways should you have any questions about the survey or future engagement (communications@businessfuturepathways.ca).

Through engaging with Business Future Pathways, your corporation can expect to benefit in several important ways:

  • Provide direct input on Business Future Pathways transition plan guidance as applicable to your sector;
  • Access the Business Future Pathways network, including a growing number of investors and lenders and other business leaders;
  • Leverage the Business Future Pathways guidance to inform your company's transition plan and support for the processes and analysis required to get there;
  • Voluntarily submit your company's transition plan as a potential case study, showcasing your company's transition planning leadership;
  • Be recognized as leaders or champions in the transition planning space.
