Exercising ESG - Steps in the Right Direction
Congratulations to these three Toronto Stock Exchange issuers, who won the Best ESG reporting award at the annual IR Magazine Awards - Canada. Agnico Eagle Mines was the winner in the large-cap category, TransAlta Corporation in the mid-cap category, and Aecon Group in the small-cap category. Nominated award categories, including the Best ESG reporting award, allows companies to submit written entries to articulate their success and achievements from the past year to be put forward to a panel of expert judges made up of investment professionals and IR Magazine editorial team members. Meanwhile, IR Magazine's researched categories invites hundreds of analysts and portfolio managers to cast votes and opinions in their survey on other categories of IR service in Canada. The 2024 IR Magazine Awards in Toronto will be held next spring.

The most significant development has been the cessation of all progress by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission toward the development of climate disclosure rules for listed companies.
