Spotlight on CEM: A Milestone Partnership at the TSX Venture Growth Conference

By Bethany Terracina, Manager, Client Success, TSX + TSXV Company Services
In July, we had the privilege of sponsoring the TSX Venture Growth Conference hosted at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort in Kelowna, BC. We are proud to say we have partnered with the Capital Events Management (CEM) group for 7 years now on this specific TSX Venture Growth Conference, but this year was extra special.
This TSX Venture Growth Conference marked a massive milestone: CEM's 100th Capital Event. What started 16 years ago in a single room in Whistler with just 21 companies has grown into a premier, year-round Global network. We were honored to be part of the 7th TSX Venture Growth Conference alongside CEM's preferred partners: MNP, DuMoulin Black, and Market One, all of whom play a vital role in supporting the growth-stage ecosystem.

By the Numbers: The 100th Capital Event
The success of this milestone TSX Venture Growth Conference is best told through its metrics:
- 50 Issuers spanning multiple high-growth sectors (Resource, Technology, Consumer Discretionary, and more) looking to scale.
- 60+ Investors (institutional, portfolio managers, and family offices) actively seeking dynamic new opportunities.
- 900 1-to-1 Meetings Facilitated, ensuring that every attendee walked away with meaningful connections and actionable leads.
Facilitating 900 direct conversations in a single weekend via their signature 20-minute rotating meeting format is no small feat. It highlights CEM's unique ability to cut through the noise, ensuring every handshake has the potential to turn into a lasting partnership.

Lunch Panel: How AI is Influencing Capital Markets
Beyond the 1-to-1 meetings at the TSX Venture Growth Conference in Kelowna, BC, we hosted an exclusive lunch panel exploring AI's rapidly evolving impact on capital markets. This panel was moderated by Richard Goodman (TMX) and the panelists included Adam Currie (CEM) , Bryan Henry (Ventum Financial), and James Moon (Hampton Securities).
The core takeaways:
- Speed & Efficiency: AI drastically boosts productivity by automating routine tasks and delivering real-time data analysis.
- The Data Prerequisite: Extracting true value requires clean, validated data pipelines and strong API integration.
- Human Oversight: While AI democratizes powerful tools, firms must balance this competitive edge with authentic human communication and strict governance to mitigate risks.
- Newsfile's AI Integration: Newsfile is actively leveraging AI to streamline the press release workflow, utilizing intelligent automation for formatting, precise metadata tagging, and rapid compliance checks to ensure faster and more accurate distribution.

Investment professionals are often overwhelmed by companies seeking to raise capital or gain open-market support to increase liquidity. In such a crowded landscape, how can issuers stand out, effectively deliver their message, and build relationships that actually make a difference? This is exactly where CEM steps in. CEM curates valuable experiences to connect capital with opportunity through a unique four-pillared approach: live Events, Virtual meetings, Advisory services, and their own Partner's Fund. With over a decade of curating an exclusive investor database, CEM has already done the heavy lifting, allowing issuers to simply show up and make an impact.
Our 7th sponsored TSX Venture Growth Conference hosted in Kelowna, BC proved that when you pair highly motivated issuers and investors with CEM's meeting execution, incredible things happen. We are honored to be part of CEM's 100th event milestone and look forward to the next hundred.
