TMX Group Consolidated Trading Statistics – February 2015

March 3, 2015 (TORONTO) – TMX Group today announced February, 2015 trading statistics for its marketplaces – Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, TMX Select, Alpha, Montreal Exchange (MX) and NGX.

In February 2015, trading volume in all TMX equities marketplaces was down 10% compared with January 2015 and down 9% compared with February 2014.

Volume on Toronto Stock Exchange in February decreased 15% compared to the previous month, but increased 4% compared to February 2014. TSX Venture Exchange's trading volume was up 13% compared to January 2015, but was down 27% compared to the same month a year earlier. Trading volume on TMX Select decreased 16% compared to January 2015, but was up 14% compared to February 2014. Alpha's volume traded in February 2015 was down 16% compared to the previous month, and down 19% compared to February of last year.

Volume on MX decreased 8% in February 2015 from the prior month, but was up 11% compared to February 2014. The level of open interest contracts at the end of February 2015 was up 10% compared to the end of January 2015 and up 10% compared to the end of February 2014.

NGX volume was up 17% in February 2015 compared to January 2015, and was down 22% compared to February 2014.
