The Exchanges to share insight on the Canadian capital markets

May 23, 2013 (TORONTO) – Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) will visit three Latin American countries starting today in Brazil with further stops in Mexico and Peru.

TSX and TSXV will visit São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mexico City, Mexico and Lima, Peru. The Exchanges will conduct one-on-one meetings with representatives from companies in the natural resources sectors to raise awareness and share insight about the Canadian capital markets. On May 28 in Mexico City, TMX Group CEO Tom Kloet will be a guest speaker at a capital markets seminar.

"Latin America is an important market for our Exchanges," said Mr. Kloet. "Our goal is not only to support our issuers doing business in the region, but to enable companies that are interested in raising capital in Canada to learn best practices about the going-public process."

There are over 475 TSX and TSXV mining companies with more than 1,525 projects in Latin America. In 2012, TSX and TSXV issuers raised $1.9 billion for projects in Latin America. As of April 30, 2013, there were 20 Latin American companies listed on TSX and TSXV with a combined market capitalization of $9.9 billion.
